What is IC?

IC is a devastating and incurable disease of the bladder.

Approximately 90% of sufferers are women, although in many cases it can be misdiagnosed as something else in men. Symptoms are severe and vary from patient to patient. They consist of any combination of urinary frequency, urinary urgency, pressure and pain, often extreme, in the bladder. Even without the pain life can be unbearable.

We all know the awful consequences of IC: you cannot even sit in a car because the pain is too excruciating; you certainly cannot confidently take a plane trip; you cannot go to a movie; you cannot go out to eat because too many foods aggravate the condition; you cannot have sexual intercourse because of the pain involved. Your life as you knew it is over.

WHAT CAN WE DO ABOUT IT?

We DON’T GIVE UP! The purpose of this website is to offer a treatment for IC sufferers to eliminate their symptoms and lead a normal life. That treatment is provided by Matia Brizman, a Doctor of Acupuncture and practitioner of Chinese Medicine. There are several people who are walking examples of how, in the hands of a licensed practitioner who specializes in IC, this disease can be overcome, and patients can regain their symptom-free lives.

We will endeavor to make this site as comprehensive as possible in order for people to understand how this treatment works. Some of the information may become repetitive, but it is necessary to address it within the context of each particular section.

Most probably, you have visited several of the sites dedicated to IC and have not yet found an answer.
Maybe you have tried everything there is to try, and you are still suffering with this horrible disease.

The medicine or procedures you have been given might have made you sicker than you ever were and you do not see any hope.

On the other hand, you may have just been diagnosed with, or suspect that you have IC, and you are looking at your options for treatment.

If you are here to find another urologist to give you the same treatment then you are in the wrong place. This site is to help you to finally take control of the disease and of your lives.

We hope that you find the information you are seeking on this site. We only ask you to keep an open mind.

We do have a special section for you skeptics, which you are welcome to check out.

I have an open mind,I have IC since Feb. 2009. From 3/10-8/10 have tried Chinese Herbs,Acupuncture and Homeopathy (with a person unexperienced in IC and initially I got somewhat better but herbs were too strong and caused severe bladder burning and she switched to only Homeopathy which only reduced symptoms a little, then I a got another bladder infection
And have been in treatment 8/10 to present with Ruth Kriz N.P. on longterm anti iotics, herbals and supplements and I feel much better but still feel the bladder burning, the back and thigh/hip pain, the fatigue…just less intense. I’ve been to 2 pelvic floor Physical therapy sessions with a therapist
experienced in IC, I work 40 hrs a week and look and act like a “normal person” on the outside, but I am desperate inside to find total relief,it is torture living this way. Tell me what to do next to see Matia. Thanks. Laura Manzanero.
