As we have mentioned in other areas of this site, not everyone who has been treated by Dr. Brizman has been willing to communicate their experience.  We are continuing to gather stories from patients as they progress through the treatment.  The first five stories here are early patients who have moved on with their lives, but who we thank for sharing their experiences with us.  The remainder are current patients who are in varying stages of treatment.

We will continue to update these stories and we will welcome more submissions from other patients of Dr. Brizman.

Caveat:  Below is a note from Dr. Brizman about not comparing others' stories with your own path.  She also recommends a post treatment diet as it relates to sugars, which is advisable for everyone to follow in order to maintain a balance and avoid a recurrence of symptoms.

It has come to my attention that some stories are causing some anxiety. So, I have written the following words to clarify some facts. I hope this helps you all understand some very important issues.

Each person's IC is as individual as she or he is. Identifying with someone's journey is healthy and constructive but taking each fact about her or his regimen at any stage along the way would be a critical mistake. The medical history and current status of each person outlines the path upon which that person needs to travel. Each individual is going to have VERY DIFFERENT issues.

So, when reading these stories, one should not assume that her or his restrictions during or after treatment will be identical. They will not be. This also goes for sharing information on the chat site. Sharing is a precious and helpful thing. However, each patient should check first with me to make certain that something that is ok for someone else is ok for him or her.

Some testimonials make reference to still having to be careful about consuming certain things. This is true, some still have to be careful because they may feel vague symptoms. The reason for this is because their bodies still have a little further to go in the healing process or it may be that they have a problem with a specific food item for any one of many reasons. Different things happen to each individual at different times along this process. Medications have been dropped at different intervals or other complicating medications may have entered the picture late in the program. You often don't know those details when reading a person's story. So, when you read them, you must keep in mind, that, you don't know all of the facts. You only know, that that person is feeling so much better and is basically symptom free. Some things may still be an issue for them, but this may be because they had a hard time with this thing for 30 years of their life. Or, they may have a hard time with something because they are actually allergic to it. You don't know the details and most people are not going to share their medical history with any of us completely.

So, read the stories with an appreciation for the overall message, don't learn someone else's path and superimpose it on your own.

The people below are at varying stages of treatment with Dr. Brizman, many of them at earlier stages.  We will endeavor to keep these stories updated as they progress.

We thank the people below for their generosity and kindness in sitting down and writing or offering their stories.  There are many more we would have loved to print, but. unfortunately, there are those who just want to move ahead with their lives after treatment and not look back.  We encourage everyone to share their success.  It is important for those coming behind to see what their hard work and commitment will achieve.
